Privacy Policy

The short version: BestScreenTesterruns its screen tests entirely in your browser. We don't require an account and we don't sell data. We use Google Analytics to measure site usage and Google AdSense to show ads, and donations are handled entirely by third-party platforms — we never see your payment details.

Information we collect

• Screen tests: all tests run locally on your device. Information about your display (colors shown, resolution, refresh rate, etc.) stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
• No accounts:there is no sign-up or login, so we don't hold names, emails, or passwords.
• Email you send us: if you contact us via the feedback page, your message arrives by email and we keep it only to respond.
• Donations: if you choose to support us, the payment is handled entirely by the donation platform (Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, or Patreon). We never receive or store your card or bank details — at most we see the name or handle and message you choose to attach to a donation.

Cookies and analytics

We load Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used (pages visited, approximate location, device type). IP addresses are anonymized. You can opt out by using a browser that blocks analytics cookies or a tracker-blocking extension.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which can include personalized advertising based on your prior visits to this and other sites. You can review and change your ad settings at Google My Ad Center, or block these cookies with your browser or an ad blocker.

Donations

Donations are processed by Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, and Patreon. When you follow a donation link you leave BestScreenTesterand are subject to that platform's own privacy policy and terms. Any personal or payment information you enter there is collected by them, not by us.

Hosting and server logs

Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically record standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. This is standard server logging and isn't used to profile you.

Third parties

We use Google Analytics for aggregate usage statistics and Google AdSense for advertising; both are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. Donations are handled by Ko-fi, Buy Me a Coffee, and Patreon, each under its own privacy policy. We don't sell your information to data brokers. Outbound links to other sites are governed by their own privacy policies.

Children's privacy

BestScreenTesteris a general-audience tool and isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
